Laos are standard adversaries for Nepal with both sides playing a 1-1 draw on May 29 in what is the main past meeting between the two groups. While Nepal gloat their status as Group "A" champs, Laos had completed runners-up in Group "B" dismissing Mongolia 3-0 in their last association diversion.
Laos had beaten base group Sri Lanka 2-1 preceding they were pounded by Group "B" victors Macau 4-1 in the second diversion. Despite what might be expected, Nepal started their crusade with a baffling goalless draw before a 3-0 triumph over Brunei lifted them to the top gathering champs.
